This is an "AR 556". According to business insider the U.S. military has had their hands in 5.56mm rounds for nearly SIXTY years! I enjoy the play of the nexus board in the background surrounding the AR 556. Like some machine gathering information and feeding it to a source computer. I also rather liked decrypting how to add a hexigonal pattern around the weapon.
The ".22" was my second major gun project. I'd been working for several weeks drawing guns, painting them is a different matter.However, I think I did the form and the resilience of the Silver and Gold grips and the slide. I've been creating future weapons and this painting has a Sci-Fi feel to it. I like naming weapons for what they are, the .22 was a weapon relied upon during several Wars.
This is my first gun painting. The golden leaves fly past the connected broken glass on either side. I believe that when an artist crosses over into the territory of firearms. He has to consider their history and their factors.
